DISPUTE AT WESTPORT

Westport, April 6. A dispute has arisen as to the hour at which labour should have been- engaged for trimming coal on the Union Company’s steamship Kaimai, following a stoppage through rain and the vessel is now idle. The Kaimai arrived irom Wellington on Wednesday, was partly loaded, and was expected to return to Wellington. Till the dispute is settled no work is expected to take place on the vessel. — P.A.
