FIGHTING IN BOSNIA
GERMANS BRING REINFORCEMENTS tßec. 9.40 a.m.) Rugby, April 16. The Yugoslav Partisans’ headquarters states that fighting is in progress in western Bosnia from Bihac to Knin and the Germans are bringing up reinforcements including tanks and aircraft. Engagements in many other parts of Yugoslavia are also recorded and the communique says that Allied naval units operating along the Dalmatian coast sank eleven vessels in the last eight days. NEW ITALIAN GOVERNMENT POLITICAL PARTIES COME TO TERMS London, April 16. A Naples message announces that all six political parties of the Italian junta after a stormy meeting unanimously decided that the obstacles which prevented the formation of a democratic war government are now removed and agreed (o nominate representatives for a new government. j FASCIST PROFESSOR KILLED London. April 16. Professor Giovanni Gentile, former Fascist Minister of Education, was shot dead in Florence last night by a cj'clist as he was leaving his residence. Reuter’s Italian observer says Professor Gentile ranked second only to Dr. Groce in Italian contemporary philosophy. He became a leading exponent of the Fascist philosophy and wrote some of Mussolini’s most striking pronouncements. He was created President of the Academy of Arts and Sciences soon after Mussolini was reinstated by Hitler and the Republican [Fascist Party was founded.
