LATEST IN ARMY EQUIPMENT
DISPLAY AND DEMONSTRATION A comprehensive assortment of Army equipment is now on display in Flemings’ building, Hardy street. It will be open for inspection every day for the remainder of the week. A military staff is in attendance and will be pleased to explain the intricate working of the various pieces of war machinery. In fact questions will be welcomed. The Army workshop, which is located outside the building, is in itself a fine example of condensed efficiency. It can handle almost any repair job that a modern garage workshop can undertake. The wireless as used in tanks and that used for field work is on exhibition and in operation. The public are actually given an opportunity to speak over this field equipment to a point located elsewhere in the city. The “Dingo”, light reconnaissance car for cross country work will also be seen. This is Something entirely new. It is lightly armoured and carries a light machine gun. It can move backward or forward at an enormous speed.
Also on view is the latest model of the Stuart tank. This is a light fast tank for cross-country work. These vehicles operate in groups of three and are used as a screen for a force either advancing or stationary. There are many other features and the opportunity to see where some of
our war expenditure goes should not be missed. The public are requested not to smoke when close to the exhibits. Army vehicles and some of the equipment will be featured in the street display on Saturday.
