ITALIAN AND GERMAN RELATIONS SPECIAL FACILITIES GIVEN US ENVOY London, Oct. 26. As a potential hurricane is gathering over Italy, it is suggested in some European diplomatic quarters that Mussolini is getting ready to “rat” on the Axis. In support of this'it is pointed out that Italy gave special facilities to the plane carrying Mr Myron C. Taylor, President Roosevelt’s representative, when he recently visited the Pope. Diplomatic circles in Berlin openly expressed dissatisfaction with this, and added: “Mr Taylor’s plane was allowed to land at an Italian service airport, where he was given every assistance.”
From Lisbon comes a sensational report that Hitler will turn the Luftwaffe loose on Rome and all chief Italian industrial cities 'f Mussolini turns traitor to the Axis.
