HEAVY U.S. BOMBERS
DAYLIGHT RAIDS ON FRANCE Rugby, Nov. 9
The Air Ministry and United States Army headquarters in London an-
nounce that United States Army Flying Fortresses and Liberators raided the docks at St. Nazaire, in occupied France in daylight to-day. Many hits were observed on the target. From this operation three bombers are missing. Spitfire squadrons of the Fighter Command which were engaged in separate but simultaneous sweeps in the St. Omer area, Northern France, this afternoon shot down a Fockewulf 19 and damaged others without loss to themselves.—B.O.W.
