COMMITTEE APPROVES
GROUP SCHEME TO GO AHEAD Adoption of the group system was discussed at an urgent meeting of the Patriotic Committee this morning and the chairman stated subsequently that members of the committee were giving their whole-hearted support to the suggestion. In order that the £3OOO aimed at be raised before the end of September the chairman appeals to all employers and employees to meet, as early as possible. and. where necessary, combine together in groups, so that everyone may have an opportunity of contributing to this great and combined effort. Mrs Milner was appointed honorary collector and will wait upon business firms and others, but this will not in | terfere with anyone wishing to send ; donations direct “Let us prove we can do it." said Mr Milner this morning. A daily progress list of contributors under the group scheme will he published in “The Mail.”
