OFF TO PHILADELPHIA
New York, July 20. Father Divine, the negro who claims to be God. announces that he is moving “Heaven”—his headquarters—from New York to Philadelphia, because “There is great lack of recognition of my work, and because of the maliciousness of the New York people.” Divine, who travels in a glistening white Rolls-Royce motor car with a dozen “angels” in attendance, revealed his plans at a farewell banquet, at which 1.000 guests enjoyed a menu that included turkey, duck, squabs, chicken, goose, beef, pork, lamb, and hain, 15 vegetables. 5 salads, 15 varieties of bread, 6 desserts, and 6 beverages.
