LABOUR DAY RACING
NINE MEETINGS YESTERDAY i 'Lambourn Wins Harcourt Stakes RECORDS BROKEN AT TRENTHAM Six racing and three trotting meetings were held throughout New' Zealand yesterday. Chief interest centred around the concluding 5 day of the Wellington Racing Club’s Spring Meeting at Trentham where records w r ere broken. The attendance was the largest of any spring fixture, the total- ! isator turnover for the three days was a spring record, and the total ‘pool on the concluding event was the largest single race total ever put ■ through on the course. The feature event, the Harcourt Stakes, was won by Lambourn, and the principal handicaps, the Pearce and the Nainai, were won respectively by Kentucky and Boswell. Astral Flame won the RooseS velt Steeplechase, which was another fine spectacle for the public. The main trotting event was at Auckland where Waipahi won the Labour Day Handicap.
