POHARA WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Pohara Women’s Institute was held recently, Mrs O. C. Miller presiding over a fair attendance of members. The roll call—a fuel economy—was well responded to and some excellent hints were given. The election of a delegate to the half-yearly council meeting resulted in the appointment of Mrs O. C. Miller. Half-yearly points prizes were presented as follows: General competitions section. Mrs Galloway 1, Mrs MacFarlane 2; blooms section, Mrs Grant 1. Mrs Bruce 2. Prizes were also presented for Mrs Hodgkinson’s competition—a Victorian posy—of last month, Mrs Kerr and Mrs Hart being the winners. In the monthly competitions those successful were: "Something new from something old,” Mrs Aitcheson 1: best bloom, Mrs Grant 1, Mrs Kerr 2. A guessing competition was won by Mrs Miller, Mrs Stade being second.
