FALL INTO RIVER
SEAMAN ON ALEXANDER (United Press Association) Greymouth, This Day. George Spruce, aged 57, seaman, narrowly escaped drowning shortly after midnight. He apparently fell in the Grey river when attempting to board the motor vessel Alexander. He was found by the chief officer, Mr Collings, clinging to a wharf pole. One leg was broken and he is suffering from the effects of immersion. He was sent to nospital, and his condition is satisfactory.
