SHIPMENTS TO SPAIN

FACILITIES GRANTED BY BRITAIN IU.P.A.-ByIU.P.A.-By Electric 1 clegraph-Copyright] LONDON. Bth December. Details of further British aid for Spain have been revealed in London. One week after the signing of a financial agreement between Britain and Spain, the British authorities are granting facilities for the shipment to Spain of 6000 tons of manganese ore. Three thousand tons of this ore, which is urgently needed by the Spanish steel industry, will come from India, and the same ship has been authorised to carry a large quantity of jute to Spain. Government has bought the entire Spanish crop of bitter oranges, and negotiations are now proceeding for a large purchase of sweet oranges. The British Government is also investigating the possibility of making available a large quantity of wheat to Spain, and it appears likely that the difficulties that have arisen about the export of seed potatoes from England and Eire to Spain will be overcome.
