PETROL COUPONS STOLEN
THOUSAND GALLONS WORTH MISSING STRONGROOM THEFT [United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. Petrol coupons for 1000 gallons were stolen from the strongroom of Blackwell’s Motors Ltd. during the week-end. Cash amounting to £l7 from petrol sales on Saturday afternoon was also removed. The strongroom, from which the coupons and cash were stolen, is generally used by the firm for books and records, and was locked up in the usual way by an attendant after Saturday, afternoon’s sales. Later it was apparently reopened with a key and locked after th removal of its contents were stolen. The petrol coupons were being held by the firm for subsequent transfer to the oil fuel authorities. They have no identification or cancellation marks, and are eligible for further petrol purchases during the remainder of December.
