ROOSEVELT’S CRUISE
CONFERENCE OFF MARTINIQUE ABOARD U.S.S MAYRANT IN THE CARIBBEAN SEA [U.P.A.-By Electric Telegraph-Copyright] CARIBBEAN SEA, 9th December. President Roosevelt in the Tuscaloosa spent two hours at a point three miles outside the French colony of Martinique conferring aboard the cruiser with the United States consular representative Martinique. A naval observer also came aboard. Earlier, Mr Roosevelt visited St. Lucia, 25 miles to the south, where he conferred with the Governor, Sir Henry Popham, and inspected the inner harbour of Port Castries.
