LOYAL HOWARD LODGE

FORTNIGHTLY MEETING There was a good attendance of members and visitors to the fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Howard oLdge presided over by the M.N.G. Bro. A. Rosenberg, -assisted by the W.V.G. Bro. N. Moorhouse. and all sitting officers. Also present were District Officers, the G.M. Bro. G. Coleman and I.P.G.M. Bro. V. Stade. Among the correspondence was a letter from Pte. P. J. Jones on active service in the Middle East, wishing all members the season's greetings. The M.N.G. endorsed an appeal to members to write an occasional letter to brethren on service abroad. Bro. Rosenberg reported having replied to Mr P. J. Twomey, hon. collector for the Makogai Leper Appeal, who had sent a letter to him and other members thanking them for their efforts of assistance, which augmented the fund by £ll 14s. Among the visitors who were extended a welcome was Bro. Martin. Loyal Addington Lodge, North Canterbury District. Bro. C. Parsons was appointed to reorganise the Indoor Bowls Club after the children’s Christmas party. A member reported having managed a public dance to assist the funds of the Lodge Christmas party. On ledge closing, a working party decorated and arranged the hall for the lodge members’ children's Christmas party, and then darts and indoor bowls were played A dainty supper supplied by the Social Committee completed the evening.
