LOYAL MATAKI LODGE
VISIT OF DISTRICT OFFICERS ■ The monthly meeting of the Loyal | Mataki Lodge, adjourned from 28th Noi vember. was resumed on Saturday night on the occasion of the annual j visit to the lodge of the District Grand • Master and iiis officers. Other visitors i to the lodge included the District Grand Master of the United Westland j Lodges and a number of members of i otner West Coast lodges. ! With Bro. H. Worthington acting as 1 conductor, the District Grand Master and other visiting officers were escorted into the Lodge room, where they were welcomed by the Noble Grand. Bro. L. A. Mcßride Other speeches of welcome were given by Bros. H. Worthington and J. Downie. The Grand Master was then asked by the N.G. to take the Noble Grand's ch%ir and to conduct the meeting. The District Grand Master. Bro. G* Coleman, in reply expressed pleasure at being once again in Murchison on the occasion of the annual visit of the district officers, and gave helpful advice to the Loyal Mataki Lodge on methods of popularising their meetings. The District Grand Master of the United Westland lodges. Bro. Dellaca. responded to the address of welcome on behalf of the West Coast lodges. Other speakers were the Deputy District Grand Master Bro. Scott. and Bros. Stewart and Cooke, of Nelson. Bro. Lang Greymouth. and several other members of the West Coast lodges. After the business had been completed. the lodge was closed by the Dis--1 trict Grand Master, j At the conclusion of the meeting, the ! was opened to the public, and the ; visitors were entertained at a very enjoyable dance. The dance programme was carried on until midnight, when I supper was served.
