' displaying great enthusiasm in the for-j mation of a strong Home Guard. Ad- j ditional enrolments have now brought | the strength of the movement in the | to \ n to 92. and more men are coming i forward all the time. Enthusiastic ; meetings have also been held at the Owen and at other outlying districts, '.vhere troops are leing formed. MEETING AT OWEN RIVER i ' There was an enthusiastic gathering , I in the Owen River Hall in connection i with the formation of a Home Guard ; unit. Mr W. McConochie (area commander) was present, and Mr F. New- > man presided over the meeting. There . were 40 present, including four ladies. The following officers were elected: . Local commander. Mr G. McK. Petty; ! ; committee, Messrs J. Clark. A. Gilroy, i : J Masters, L. Stewart. D. Win, R. Win: j : secretary, Mr L. Parslow.
