MESSAGE TO M. REYNAUD
NEW ZEALAND’S TRIBUTE TO FRENCH RESISTANCE [Unfted Press Association] WELLINGTON. This Day. A cablegram to the Prime Minister of France; Monsieur Paul Reynaud, was sent last night by the Prime Minister of New Zealand, the Hon. P. Fraser. The message is as follows: “The Government and people of New Zealand have watched with tense anxiety and boundless admiration the heroic efforts of the French army and people in their struggle against ruthless invasion. At this moment we desire to assure you, Mr Prime Minister, that the cause of France is more than ever in our hearts and to reaffirm in the most solemn form out determination to pursue the conflict into which France and the British Commonwealth, with their Allies, have been forced in defence Oi justice and freedom until the victory is attained. Our cause is the cause of humanity and in that cause we send our fraternal gretings and encouragement to Republican and Democratic France in her hour of trial.”
