Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret Rose participated in swimming races at the Bath Club. Princess Margaret Rose won one event. The Queen watched the children with the mothers of other entrants. Princess Margaret Rose was placed first with 35J marks out of a possible forty, winning the Challenge Cup for children under nine, and Princes Elizabeth won the Challenge Shield for girls aged from 9 to 14. The Queen later presented the prizes ard shook hands with the children.
