FIGHT FANS' BALLOT

In a last-minute poll held on to-day's fight between Joe Louis and Tony Galen to, while 47 per cent, of the persons polled expressed a desire to have Galento win, only 10 per cent, expressed the belief that he might, and the concensus of opinion among sports writers is that, while the unexpected may happen, the fight will probably last less; than five rounds for Galento but should be interesting nevertheless. It seems indicated that few recent heavyweight championship bouts have aroused so much attention. Galento finished training only to-day, continuing! to box and do road work up to the last minute. Louis rested. Both gave the New York “Times” pre-fight statements, each predicting a knock-out victory for himself though declining to mention in what round. Louis said, “I’ll lake no chances. I’ll try to win just as quickly and decisively as 1 can.” Galento sajd, “The first good punch 1 hit him will put him on the floor. Then I will finish him.”
TITLE RECAPTURED HOSTAK DEFEATS KRIEGER SEATTLE, 28th June. A 1 Hostak recaptured the middleweight boxing championship by defeating Solly Krieger by a technical knockout in the fourth round of a scheduled ten-round bout. The title will be recognised by the National Boxing Association. . ■ .iLSS
