WELSH MINER OFFERS BODY CURED WHEN HE WAS DYING '(.( Air Mail—Special Correspondent! LONDON, Ist April. A Welsh miner has offered his body after death, to the Medical School of Sheffield University because he believes he is the only man in Britain who has been “rejuvenated” after he was given up as incurable. He is Mr Dave Hughes, aged 50, of Ruabon. Denbighshire. Through Professor F. Davies, the university has written thanking him for the “public spirit” that induced him to make his offer. “Yes, and they won't be disappointed,” Mr Hughes said this week. “When they get my body they will find a secret that will add years of life to everyone. j "I can’t tell them the secret because I do not know it. It was ‘worked’ on me 20 years ago as an experiment by a famous surgeon. Six doctors saw me and said I was dying of ptomaine poisoning. When I was on my last legs, I went to a famous surgeon and he decided to take a chance on me. “He drained all the mortified blood out of my body and pumped new blood back into me. I did not inquire what blood it was—whether it was man, pig or monkey, clid not matter to me. All I cared about was that I was cured. Today I am fitter than most men of twenty. But, most remarkable of all, I never tire now.”
