Y.M.C.A. INTER-HOUSE BASKETBALL
RESULTS AND NEXT WEEK’S DRAW COMPETITIONS COMMENCE ON MONDAY The results of the friendly interhouse basketball games played at the Y.M.C.A. last Monday and Tuesday were as follows: — LADIES Post Office, 20; Hospital. 20. Y.M.C.A., 24; Convent, 30. McKenzies, 18; Swimming Club. 8. Buxton's, 14; Woolworths, 30. Broma, 26; Hursts, 6. McKay's, 8; Sacred Heart, 32. MENS Regimental A, 4; Buxtons, .9. Warehouses, 8; Y.M.C.A., 2. Harriers, 4; Post Office, 18. Regimental B had a bye. DRAW FOR NEXT WEEK As there are not sufficient teams to have two grades it has been decided to allow McKays' a handicap of 6 points. The draw for next Monday and Tuesday is as follows: MONDAY, 15th MAY Ladies 5.45 p.ni. Hursts v. Post Office (Miss Cann and Albrough). 6.15 p.m. Sacred Heart v. Swimming Club (Miss Fowler and H. Muncaster). 6.45 p.m. McKenzies v. Convent (Miss Chennells and Nock). Men 6.0 p.m. Post Office v. Warehouses (Elder Fitzgerald and H. Muncaster). 6.30 p.m. Regimental v. Y.M.C.A. (Elder Taylor and Day). TUESDAY, 16th MAY Ladies 5.45 p.m. McKays v. Woolworths (Miss Chennells and May). 6.15 p.m. Broma v. Buxtons (Miss Fowler and Elder Fitzgerald). 6.45 p.m. Y.M.C.A. v. Hospital (Miss Barry and R. Muncaster). Men 6.0 p.m. Harriers v. Regimental B (Elder Taylor and Nock). 6.30 p.m. Kirkpatricks v. Buxtons (Bridgeman and Day). Next week will mark the opening of the season for competition games, and some very keen sport is anticipated. Already the teams are being watched for likely players to represent Nelson at the New Zealand Championships to be held in Wellington during the King’s Birthday week-end. The Association would like to impress on all players that they must wear their registered colours.
