EMERGENCY ARMAMENTS
FINANCE VOTE IN TURKEY | ISTANBUL, 15th April. The Government is asking the Assem- 1 bly to vote £2,500,00 to finance emer- ! gency armaments. The Assembly has voted £425,000 to enable advanced recruitment of certain classes of conscripts for the period of a war of resistance. Interest is at 6 per cent., to be secured on taxation and revenue. Bonds will be redeemable in 1966. The first half is to be issued on Ist June and the second on Ist September. Bonds of a similar amount are to be issued to finance work of reconstruction.
