BETWEEN FRANCE AND GERMANY PARIS, 15th April. In order to avoid incidents the i Soccer match between France and Ger- I many, fixed for 23rd April, has been ! cancelled. A match between England j and France may be substituted. Cancellation was anticipated in view ' of the withdrawal of the German mili- | tary team from the Nice horse show. I It is believed that a Rugby match j between France and Germany, fixed for 30th April, will also be cancelled. BRITAIN’S EFFORTS FOR PEACE LONDON, 15th April. The Air Minister, Sir Kingsley j Wood, opening the civic airport at \ Great ham to-day, expressed the opinion j that if war came Britain’s conscience I would be clear, because she had done ; everything to avert a world catastrophe. Her efforts had made her mor- , ally and spiritually stronger.
