MARRIAGES IN REPUBLICAN SPAIN
45,000 DECLARED ILLEGAL (U.P.A.—By Electric Telegraph—Cop* m* hi (Received 15th April, 1 p.m.) MADRID, 14th April. The Nationalist authorities announced that 45,000 civil marriages celebrated in the Madrid region during the Republican regime were illegal. Officers performed half of this total al the front and magistrates the remainder.
