NELSON REPERTORY CLUB

In spite of the Easter holidays and the consequent difficulty in getting the cast together for a rehearsal, the reading on Tuesday was quite successful and most enjoyable. “Tovarich” by Jacques Deval (adapted by Robert E. Sherwood), was chosen, being arranged by Miss Blackett. The story, although complicated, was unusual and most interesting. Mrs Campbell was both appealing and amusing as the Grand-duchess Tatiana Petrovna, and the part of Prince ’Mikall Ouratieff was well sustained by Captain Norris-Hill.

Mr and Mrs D. Fowler were good as the French banker, Charles Dupont and his wife. Miss A. Wearing and Mr H. Addis took the parts of the Duponts, daughter and son, respectively, while Mr A. Tresidder was sufficiently sinister as Commissar Gorotchenko.

Other parts were taken by Mesdames Methven, Parker and Addis, and Messrs Russell and Du Flou.
