WEDDING AT TAKAKA
POLGLASE—LANGFORD A pretty wedding took place at the Church of Christ, Takaka, on Thursday, 6th April, when Olive, daughter of Mr and Mrs P. V. Langford, was married to David, son of Mr and Mrs George Polglase, of Bainham. The Rev. Langford, of Hokitika, a cousin of the *bride, journeyed to Takaka to perform the marriage ceremon3 r . and Miss Langford, a sister of the bride, played the wedding music. The bride, who was accompanied to the church by her father, wore a charming frock of ivory satin, made with a cowl front caught up at the neck with a spray of orange blossom, and trimmed with hand-made flowers. She wore a creamy tulle veil and carried a beautiful bouquet of lemon dahlias and gypsophila. Miss Ruby Langford attended her sister as bridesmaid, wearing a dainty frock of blue georgette and carrying a bouquet of pink dahlias with gypsophila. Both bouquets were daintily made and were the gift of Mrs E. Hitchcock.

A reception was held at the Oddfellows’ Hall, about 80 guests being present. Mrs Langford, the bride’s mother, was hostess in a gown of black floral crepe-de-chine, with black hat and coat to match, and was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, who wore a smart navy costume.
When the young couple left on their honeymoon, the bride travelled in a navy blue costume with hat and accessories to match.
Mr and Mrs D. Polglase, who were the recipients of many handsome gifts, including several cheques, will make their new home in Nelson.
