MARCONI’S SECRET PROCESS WIDOW TELLS OF EXPERIMENTS | B.v Air Mail—Own Correspondent! LONDON, 24th December. A secret that died with Marconi was a method of producing gold from seawater. His widow this week told hoi/ shortly before his death he showed her two little yellow stones. “It is gold”, he said. For months, his yacht anchored in the Mediterranean, he had been working alone. His experiments were almost at an end when he died. Only his wife and little daughter, Elettra. had seen the tiny nuggets which would have meant unlimited gold for Italy. Marchesa Marconi, in London, on a visit to friends said: “For seven months he had lived on the yacht, working secretly in his laboratory. He actually produced gold from the sea water by using electrical “ ‘Later’ he said ‘we will return and complete the experiments’ but death struck first. He was working quite alone and left no notes.”
