SIR CHARLES LUKE
TRIBUTES TO HIS WORK i United Press Association! DUNEDIN, 2611 t January. The great service given in the interests of hospital work in New Zealand by Sir Charles Luke, Wellington, was the subject of reference by the chairman of the Otago Hospital Board, Mr J. W. Dove, at a meeting of the board to-night. On tlie motion of Mr Dove, supported by Mr A. F. Quclch, the board expressed congratulations to Sir Charles upon the knighthood recently conferred upon him by His Majesty the King. It was now more than 50 years since Sir Charles entered hospital administrative work in Wellington and lie was the only surviving member of the old Hospital Trustees Board, which controlled the institution in 1885, Mr Dove said. His record of social service in the Community had earned for him the thanks and appreciation not only of fellow citizens in Wellington but of the whole Dominion.
CONGRATULATIONS FROM WELLINGTON HOSPITAL BOARD WELLINGTON, This Day. Congratulations to Sir Charles Luke on the knighthood recently conferred on him were expressed by members of the Wellington Hospital Board last night. The chairman, Mr J. (Jlover, Mr F. Castle and Mr A. H. Carman all referred to Sir Charles’s valuable work over many years in tlie interests of the hospital.
