FREEZING WORKS DISPUTE
CONFERENCE ARRANGED (United Press Associationl AUCKLAND, This Day. Although the Westfield Freezing Works remained idle this morning the outlook was brightened by an announcement that representatives of the workers and the management had agreed to meet immediately to discuss the situation. Eight hundred men and women gathered at the works at 8 o’clock this morning and held a further meeting, and later announced that a conference would begin at 9 o’clock. Another mass meeting was arranged for noon for communicating the result of the conference to the workers. Meanwhile most of the workers returned home. It was officially stated to-day that the Federation of Labour was not concerning itself with the dispute and no outside parties had taken part in developments. NO AGREEMENT ANOTHER CONFERENCE THIS AFTERNOON AUCKLAND, This Day. No agreement was reached in the Westfield Freezing Works dispute, and this morning’s conference was adjourned until 2 o'clock this afternoon.
