SERIOUSLY INJURED
WELLINGTON MOTORIST CAR AND TRAM COLLIDE WELLINGTON. This Day Head injuries and concussion were received by Mr J. McCrohon, 195 Worser Bay road, Seatoun, when a collision occurred between the motor-car he was driving and a tramcar in Crawford road opposite Duncan Terrace at about 5 45 p.m. yesterday. Early this morning Mr McCrohon. who was taken to the Wellington Public Hospital by the Free Ambulance, w’as reported to be still unconscious. It is understood that Mr McCrohon, who w f as travelling toward Seatoun. was endeavouring to pass another car when the collision occurred. The hood of his car was forced in over the driving seat, the front bumper torn off, and only one pane of glass left intact. The tram, which was travelling toward Newtown, was also badly damaged, the glass surrounding the driver being smashed and the handbrake standard broken. The tram driver was not injured. Because of the w r ay in which the hood of the car was buckled in over the driver's seat considerable difficulty was experienced in freeing Mr McCrohon from the wreckage. PLIMMERTON COLLISION WELLINGTON. This Day When Mr L. Mexted. farm hand. Main road. Pahautanui, was thrown off the back of a lorry on which he w’as seated after a collision between the lorry and a baker's van on the main highway, near Plimmerton. at 7.30 o’clook yesterday morning, he received head injuries, a dislocated right shoulder and shock. The Free Ambulance took him to the Wellington Public Hospital.
