AT THE COLLEGE SPORTS
I'lo Th« : Editor Sir, —On Saturday I attended the Annual Sports at the Boys’ College. The contestants, to me. sbCmed to be in great form, full of vim and as keen as ever they were—and everything went off AI. The weather was glorious, and what a glorious setting the College grounds and neighbourhood provide for a gathering of this happy seasonable character. There was a representative attendance of the public, all sorts and conditions- of men come to the College Sports. This shows what a democratic age we now live in. On the terrace I I noticed some of the College governors and they were as interested as anybody. All the arrangements were excellent. The only blemish on the landscape was the ruins of the main College buildings, a gaunt and open chasm on which the wind plays (as the Band discovered). But by this time next year, if ali goes well, I think we may have good hopes that rebuilding operations will be well under way—and we shall have a structure worthy of the site, and in harmony with the tradition?, of so fine an institution. —I am etc. OBSERVER.
