WELLINGTON, This Day. After forty-two years’ service in the Post and Telegraph Department, Mr R. I. Allan, Postal Inspector, was the guest of honour at a farewell function. He was presented with a set of bowls by the deputy Director-General, Mr F. J Shanks, who congratulated Mr Allan on the way he had carried out his duties.

Mr Allen joined the Department at Nelson in 1d95. He was stationed at various offices, including Dunedin, Wellington and Christchurch. He intends to Jive at Auckland.
