TO SING CORONATION MUSIC FOUR CHORISTERS FROM DOMINION (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. A proposal that four choristers from New Zealand should take part in the Empire Choir which will sing the Coronation music at Westminster Abbey on 12th May, was contained in a letter received by-Mr W. E. Caldow. secretary of the Associated ChoralSocieties of New Zealand, from the Under-Secretary of the Internal Affairs Department, Mr J. W. Heenan, The following cable has been received from the High Commissioner, Mr W. J. Jordan. “One each bass, tenor, contralto and soprano from the Dominion is invited to join the choir for the Coronation service. They must have the recommendation of the musical authorities and have had choral experience. Please advise me of any who will be here for practice a month before the Coronation.”
Mr Heenan said it would appear that there was no question of the expenses being paid, but he would be pleased to hear of any members of choral societies who would be in England during the Coronation and who were desirous of accepting the invitation.
