AMERICAN SCIENTISTS INTERESTED

STUDY OF COSMIC RAY (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) Received 23rd May, 9.15 a.m.) NEW YORK. 22nd May. The Australian Associated Press learns that a group of well-known scientists will shortly approach the Commonwcalth Government with the idea,, if possible, of arranging an Australian stratosphere flight during the next Australian summer. The three men who may be most closely interested are Dr. Jean Picard. Professor August Picard, and Professor W. F. G. Swann, director of the Barto Research Foundation and a noted British-American physicist. Particular attention would be given to cosmic ray study, on which Professor Swann is one of the world s greatest authorities. Another interesting feature ol the Australian flight is that it is contemplated that Mrs Jean Picard will accompany her husband, or he will be accompanied by his brother August.
