STEAMERS IN COLLISION
CANADIAN PLANTER DAMAGED ARRIVAL IN PORT (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. Advice has been received by the local office of Canadian National Steamships that the steamer Canadian Planter, which was reported to have been sunk after a collision in Nantucket Sound, arrived at Boston on Tuesday in a damaged condition. A cable message from New lork dated 3rd May stated that the vessel bad collided with the British freighter City of Auckland in a fog in Nantucket Sound early in the morning, and had gone down almost immediately. The crew of the Canadian Planter were .dated to have been safely abord the City of Auckland, which was not seriously damaged. However, this version oi the occurrence is definitely incorrect, according to the present information.
