SUNSHINE AND RAIN On the last day of January the sun shone for 13 hours 15 minutes on Nelson, while the total bright sunshine for the month was 228 hours 10 minutes, giving a daily average of 7 hours 22 minutes. Last year there were 284 hours 35 mins, of sunshine in January, with an average of 9 hours 11 minutes. The rainfall for tne month was 3.oßins as conjjared with 3.27 ins iast year. At the Government Research Orchard 2.99 ins of rain fell during the month, against 3.o7ins in January, 1935.
