OBITUARY

MR HORACE E. BOYES

The late Mr Horace Edmund Boyes. of Bai Falls, whose death has occurred was a son of the late Mr Thomas Boyes of Motueka. He spent his early life in Motueka. Later he managed Mr E. W. Hodgson’s store at Belgrove for several years and was also storekeeper on his own account in Lower Moutere. He then resided in Murchison for several years when he started the brass band and was its conductor. He was also actively engaged in all interests in that district. In 1911 Mr Boyes came to Nelson and was storekeeper at Bai Falls, from 1928-1935. He w-as predeceased by his wife four years ago. He is survived by two sons and three daughters, seven grandchildren. The sons are Messrs R. 11. Boyes, Post Office, Whitford and R. H. Boyes, Post Office, Leeston. The daughters are Mcsdanies F. Luff (Westport), J.

Brown junior (Rai Falls), and C. Col lins (Deep Creek).
