Whether he ■would visit Canada and New Zealand on his way back had still to be discussed by Cabinet.
Mr Lyons, Prime Minister, interviewed at Hobart, denied the suggestion Chat Fir Page would call at New Zealand to discuss a plan whereby Australian citrus fruits might he admitted to the IDominion on the condition that New Zealand potatoes are allowed into Australia. Mr Lyons added that it was not to be understood that trade negotiations with New Zealand had fallen through, but when negotiations on the issue of the potato embargo were resumed the Commonwealth Government would in accordance with the promise made by himself refer the subjects under discussion to the Federal Potato Council of Australia in the first place.
