RICHARD DIX NOT GOING TO SYDNEY (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) HOLLYWOOD, Bth January. Richard Dix, the well-known actor, informed the Australian Press Association that he had received an offer from British-Gaumont, Sydney, to play the lead in “The Flying Doctor,” but was unable to accept. A doctor had advised him against having his sevenmonth twin sons, Richard and Robert, taken a long trip, and he declined to travel without his family, although he found the contract attractive. FAIRBANKS TO ACT NO MORE NEW YORK, Bth January. Douglas Fairbanks has announced that he will never act for the screen again. He will continue to produce films, however, the first being “Marco Polo,” which he has been planning for seven years.
