MILITARY ALLIANCE

THE BALKAN POWERS AIMED AT ITALY AND HUNGARY (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, 13th November. -V five power military alliance was readied between Turkey, Yugoslavia, Rumania, Czechoslovakia, and Greece against Italy and Hungary. This, says the “Sketch’s” diplomatic correspondent, is the secret outcome of the recent Balkan conclave held at Angora at Kenial Pasha's special invitation. Turkey, Rumania and Yugoslavia, according Lo the correspondent, are pledged to defend the others’ frontiers, and resist any Italian aggression, but Czechoslovakia and Greece are only “limited partners” in tlie alliance. Czechoslovakia is bound to join in opposing Italian occupation of Austria, or a. Hungarian attack on Yugoslavia or Rumania, but owing to the fear that Germany would not undertake to send troops to the Balkans or Turkey, Greece would only join in defence purely oil the Balkan frontiers, but undertake to maintain neutrality in Salonika, enabling munitions to be consigned to Yugoslavia if the latter is at war.
