Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary at Baghdad in succession to Sir Francis Humphreys who is relinquishing his appointment in the spring.

Sir Francis Humphreys G.C.V.0., G.C.M.G., has been High Commissioner for Iraq since October 1929. Jlc was formerly British Minister at Kabul. He served in the South African War, and entered the service of the Government of India in 1903, and held various offices as a Political Agent From 1922 +'• 1928 Sir Francis was British Minister at tlie Court of the King of Afghanistan. He accompanied the ex-King Amanullah to Europe in 1928, and in the revolution underwent great risks. Ho hocsiine Air Commodore in September 1930.
