LEADING TO SOVIETISM

The question of whether America, is heading towards Soviet collectivism : s being widely discussed, as Congress is preparing to investigate n statement by .Professor William Wirt, that members of the “Brain. Trust” had told him they were leading President 'Roosevelt towards a complete social and economic revolution
“Brain Trust” hooks also are being protested against in Congress, notably “Our American Society” by Professor Rex ford Tugwell, Assistant Secretary for Agriculture, who wrote, "The experiments commenced in 1933 arc worthwhile beginnings.” The influential “Saturday Evening Post’ ’calls for a strong independent opposition party to head the country away from the Russian programme saying: “To-day we have government by amateurs anil rollege boys, irrespective of their age, wdio lately have _ taken hearty swigs of Russian vodka ” Leading Democrats trace this campaign against the “Brain Trust” hack to Wall Street opposition to legislation relating to the Stock Exchange.
