EARLY RETIREMENT
(By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. lhe retirement of the Director-General of Agriculture, Dr. Reakes, will be announced almost immediately. He has been m the service of the Government for almost 35 years, and as a result of the growth of the Department of Agriculture his position has come to be -e----cognised as one of the most important in the whole of the public service. A DENIAL WELLINGTON. This Day. The Public Service Commissioner, Mr Veischaffelt, in a denial says there is nothing in the report that Dr. Reakes is retiring.
