COLLEGE JUBILEE

ARRANGEMENTS FOR LARGE GATHERINGS ABSENCE OF SUITABLE HALLS BALL UNAVOIDABLY RESTRICTED TO OLD GIRLS AND PARTNERS The Jubilee Committee report:— “Ai. no time has the need of a Town Hall been more apparent than during the preparations which are being made for the celebration of the Jubilee of the Nelson College for Girls. “Arrangements have been very greatly hampered by the lack of any plaxie suitable for holding large functions, and although the Jubilee Committee have been fortunate in obtaining the use of the Marsden Library for their card party, and the School of Music for the ball, it is considered that these will be all too small for the number wishing to be present. “Unfortunately therefore it is found necessary to ■confine the attendance within definite limits. Invitations to be present have been sent to the Mayor and Mayoress and the Town Clerk and Mrs Mitchell, as representing the city, and to representatives of various institutions associated with the College. “Apart from these, only Old Girls and partners brought or nominated by them can be permitted to attend.

“Admission, will be strictly by ticket only—to be obtained at the College Office, or from Miss Moore, 30 Nile street.
