FLOODS IN DOVEDALE DISTRICT
DAMAGE TO ROADS AND BRIDGES The heaviest rain for three years was experienced in the Dovedale district on Thuisday, considerable damage being done. Highways were badly scoured, and two small bridges and two small culverts were washed away.
The Waimea County Council notify by advertisement that traflic should exercise caution on the roads in the district. The Wakofield-Woodstock main highway is closed to traffic at Brandy Creek bridge, but a deviation through paddocks and a rough ford will bo available for light traffic in line weather. Other parts of the country were not affected to any extent.
