Miss Hilda Patterson, Wood candidate for the. carnival queen, arrives from Wellington to-morrow morning. Among those present at the opening lof the new gas plant yesterday afternoon was Mr Barnett, chairman of the Takaka County Council. The death occurred at Murchison early this morning of Mrs Elizabeth Taylor, widow of the late Mr Geo. Taylor, well known throughout the Collingwood district, where she had resided for many years. Mr Joseph Taylor, of Nelson, is a step-son of the deceased.
