THEFT OF FLOWERS

FROM PUBLIC GARDENS

“DISGRACEFUL CIVIC SPIRIT” Theft of flowers and plants from public gardens is again rife, according to statements made at the City Councii mecting last evening, and drew a remark from Councillor Moynagh that a “disgraceful civic spirit” was shown by some people. It was stated that a clean sweep had been made of the bulbs in flower on the Church Hill, and that plants and flowers had been taken from' the rock garden. Councillor Moynagli remarked that one. person had been seen coining away from the rockery with a bag full of flowers and plants, but that no information was given to the authorities. Regret was expressed that so much difficulty was experienced in obtaining information as to acts of vandalism, people not wishing to come forward to make definite charges.
