FURTHER REPRESENTATIONS BY MR BLACK

(From “The Mail’s!' Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, 6th August. The Minister of Health was asked by Mr G. C. Black (Independent, Motueka) in the House to-dav whether, in view of the decision of the Nelson Hospital Board following on the fact that no tender had been received for lease of thi Motueka Cottage Hospital that the institution be closed as from the end of this month, he would take steps to prevent the closing of the hospital. “It serves a country district of some 4000 settlers,” said Mr'Black, “and its closing will lender great hardship.” Tlie Hon. A. J. Stallworthy said the matter was at present being discussed by the Health Department with a view to protecting the interests of the Motueka district.
