EXPLOSION IN MINE
THIRTY-ONE FATALITIES

COLOGNE, 22nd February,
Thirty-one were k illed by a firedamp explosion in a, reserve pit at Nortliberg, near Eschweiler. Fourteen were rescued, of whom four are in serious condition from gas poisoning. Forty pit ponies were killed.
