LIQUOR LICENSING REFERENDUM IN VICTORIA (United Press Association—By Eloctrio Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 2!)th March, 11.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. Polling is proceeding to-day on the issue of. the State-wide question "Shall liquor licenses be abolished.?" ■ Voting is compulsory and 1,029,000 electors enrolled will be asked to say yes or no. Sixty per cent, of the votes polled arc necessary to carry Prohibition. Two districts, Nunawading and Boorondara, already dry are not affected by to-day's vote. Licenses in these two districts can only be renewed by the vote of the people of those districts at a local option poll. The campaign has been strenuous and bitter. It has been notable for causing breaches in the. ranks of the Labour Party and Housewives' Association.
